What were we thinking?
We decided to head out to Six Flags for the night where they have a pretty big 4th of July show there. We headed out around 5 and decided that we would let the boys ride some rides before the show started at 9. As you can tell from a previous post...we love it there. Its never crowded in the kids area and literally the boys can get right on a ride without any lines and most of the time can even end up staying on the ride and ride it again without ever getting off.
WELL WELL WELL....We just should have truned around when we saw the parking lot, but we kept thinking that it would start clearing out since it was 5 and surely half of these people will be heading home to eat dinner right? Then it sprinkled a little and I thought that might scare some of the people too and they might leave right? SO WRONG! It was crowded as all get out....you had to have gotten tickets for the fireworks show earlier in the day becuase they ran out...:) hehe... and the wait for lines was outrageous. I actually tried to take a picture in the crowd just to post here so we could all play a game of find Heather and the boys in the crowd, but the batteries died...par for the course today.
So as any good parent would do...we got into our bag of tricks...and bribed! I think it went a little something like this..."So boys, how about we ride the GullyWasher, then we head on out and stop by the store for a movie and some ice cream to make milk shakes and we stay up late watching our movie...and then we can come back on Sunday for the waterpark and we can ride every ride there." The whole time I was thinking please god go along with this...and they did! So we waited for 35 minutes to ride the 3 minute ride...rode to HEB soaked...got our ice cream and movie and curled up together and watched a great movie. And as promised we will be retunring on Sunday for some waterpark action.
Here are some pics from our previous 4th of July celebrations that turned out a little better from years past!
