My main purpose of setting up this blog was for all of our family to see what we were up to and to also serve as sort of a digital scrapbook where the boys can go back and see what we did during any certain part of the year.
So I hit a road block though when you truly have nothing going on in your life and you truly are living out the lazy days of summer. What do you blog about? What pics do you put up?
So instead of posting nothing, I am posting something about doing nothing. :) I sat here and realized that the boys dont care if I am cramming their days full of Six Flags and other exciting outtings. Sure they would love to go, but they are just as happy if we are doing things at home that are fun.
The days here are just to hot with the temperature crawling near 100... it's too hot for bike rides, or fun outings that dont involve lots of water and bathing suits. So we play games inside, video games, board games, coloring books, playdough. There is a certain simplicity to our day when its spent inside with just the 3 of us when Alan is at work. The boys do a lot more imaginative things. They become power rangers, or pretend that they are running car shops. My favorite is when they play like they are the dad and son. So cute to hear them reliving their own life.
By the time that Aln gets home its usually cooling off a little so we head outside to the trampoline or swing set. They love to play tball with daddy or a little soccer. They also love to play with their cars and such on the deck.
This is simple fun....fun times with the kids and hopefully times that they will remember too...

Our best investment this year....
The best ivestment that was made this year for us were our season passes to Six Flags Fiesta Texas! The boys absolutely LOVE it and it's a great thing to do between the rides and the waterpark! So....My friend Mandy and I decided that we would be brave and take her two kids and one of their friends and Alex and Blake to Six Flags for the day! So off we headed with plenty of sunscreen to supply a small army, snacks, dinner in a cooler to eat while we were there, waters, 5 very hyper kids, and 2 excited, but hesitant moms. I don't know if we expected melt downs or not, but we were pleasantly suprised when everyone had a great day and there were no major explosions! Needless to say I didnt have space for the camera so I didnt get any pics, but I will post some pics from the last time that we headed out there. They have a terrific water park there and have so many things there for kids to do...here are some from the kids section at the park!
When we got home Alan was asking Blake about his time at Six Flags....we spent the WHOLE day there and Blake didn't mention anything about that...instead he told him the best part was the car ride home when they were all telling each other jokes that made no sense what so ever, but would still bust out laughing at each other.
We just should have driven around the whole day and let them entertain themselves!

Gazillion Bubbles

So we have been having a good summer....and then this week hit! Honestly I think that we are just trying to find our groove for the summer time and a routine that will fit both the boys and I. Something about this week though...the boys are antsy and I am going stir crazy too. So what better way to beat the boredom, but to go outside and "karate shop" the bubbles! I found my bubble machine and out in the front we headed to pop bubbles. The boys love to try to pop them with their nose, or run through them, or even pretend that they are power rangers and fight their way through them. Either way it was a great way to help break up our day a little more.

We love Daddy!
We went over to Dad and Kims house for some Fathers Day fun! Kim fixed a yummy meal and everyone had a very nice and relaxing time. The boys were SO well behaved which made for a great time for all! We are truly blessed that the boys can celebrate such a special day with not only their granddad, but also their great-granddad. Here are some pics of the "dads" with the boys!

Lets have another go at it....
Ok...so I dont know if any of you even kept up with our old blog....if you didn't don't feel bad, because I didnt either! So I have made it my summer mission to start to make this a habit. We have so much family and friends dispersed throughout the US and with the price of gas now, no way of getting to see them as much as we would love to. So this will serve as our way to get to fill you in on what is happening in our world in Texas! Feel free to comment and check back often as you can as I try my best to keep you updated!
Love ya all!
